Chiruca, the Spanish maker of footwear and other outdoor gear, is introducing a line of shoe-care products for its current sell-in campaign. In addition to its first-ever shoe deodorant, the company has produced a cleaning brush – effective on both split leather and nubuck – that has a synthetic face to clean off dust and dirt, a side piece to get into the seams and a nylon face to work the leather itself. The Waterproof Treatment spray has been reformulated to be water-based and free of solvents. Because it uses no propellants, moreover, the spray does not qualify as dangerous merchandise. It can be used on split leather, nubuck or textiles. The Natural Cream, made with natural oils, hydrates leather to prevent cracking. All products in the line have been designed not to interfere with the Gore-Tex or the microporous leather used in Chiruca's shoes. The line should hit stores this spring.
