Columbia Sportswear has signed a global licensing agreement with Marchon Eyewear, the world's third-largest producer of branded eyewear and sunglasses. Vision Monday reports that the Columbia range is set to hit the market in September, and it will include a range of technical sunglasses for Columbia's Performance Fishing Gear (PFG) range. They are to be sold in Columbia stores, sports specialty stores and some optical retail stores. The Columbia brand will fit in Marchon's Sport Performance division. The New York-based company's other partners in the sports market include Nike and Dragon. It makes eyewear under many other brands, from Calvin Klein to Lacoste, Nautica and Valentino, among others. Columbia's previous eyewear license was held by L'Amy America, covering Europe and North America.
