Eddie Bauer, the U.S. leisure and outdoor brand is reportedly opening a shop-in-shop at Globetrotter in Cologne, marking its return to stationary retailing in Germany. The brand has been absent from this retail channel since the acquisition of Eddie Bauer Deutschland by Eddie Bauer America in 2014. Although Eddie Bauer has several retail facilities in the U.S. market, the Globetrotter location will be the brand's first in Europe. Under its previous owner, the Otto Group, Eddie Bauer was already involved in own retailing in Germany, but in recent years it has been sold only through mail order and online. Eddie Bauer has obtained retail space of 70 square meters in the Globetrotter store, which covers 7,000 square meters. The shop-in-shop will open on Sept. 28 and the brand will organize an event at this location on Oct. 14, which will let consumers try out products.
