Hohenstein, the family-owned testing, certification and research company for textiles, has developed what it calls a Digital Fitting Lab for brands, retailers and suppliers. The German company is inviting such companies to consult its engineers and designers, through workshops or the Hohenstein Academy, to adapt their existing procedures to 3D fitting and develop a digital workflow. Companies provide a number of inputs – sizes, patterns and materials – and the system uses avatars, 3D visualization, 3D fitting and 4D “fit in motion” to set parameters for production. According to Hohenstein, the system works with a variety of 3D simulators. The system also breaks down into modules to suit companies that have already advanced on the road to 3D fitting. Hohenstein was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Bönnigheim.
