Joseph Gray, a famous American mountain runner, has joined Merrell's team of ambassadors as its Global Trail Runner. A multi-record athlete, Gray is to begin testing and collaborating with Merrell's product development team, to help develop trail running footwear and apparel. Gray was most recently awarded the USA Mountain Runner of the Year Award, which he has already won five times. He was the first athlete to win North American, Central American and Caribbean championships in both cross country and mountain running. Most recently, Gray came in fifth at the 2015 World Mountain Running Championship. While aiming to bring more diversity to the sport, the athlete hopes to set records in some of the historic USA races and to challenge records on new routes and series around the world.
