La Sportiva and Oberalp were selected as the two winners from the outdoor sector in a contest among more than 1,100 Italian companies for the management of their brand equity. Covering many other sectors as well, the “Save the Brand” contest was based on analysis of several criteria conducted by ICM Advisers and other organizations specializing in finance, legal affairs and other areas. La Sportiva, which is forecasting sales of €75 million for this year, with 82 percent of the turnover made outside Italy, was chosen because of its ability to internationalize. According to the analysis, the company had an operating margin (Ebit) of 10.9 percent on sales of €65.3 million in 2014. Oberalp, which is the parent company of Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca and Wild Country, had an Ebit margin of 4.0 percent on sales of €142.5 million. ICM estimated the value of the brand portfolio at €29.9 million for La Sportiva and €67.2 million for Oberalp.
