Primaloft has developed its first insulation made entirely from recycled PET bottles. The company claims the new insulation fully meets all of its performance standards, such as low weight, high compressibility and water repellency. Around nine PET bottles are needed to create the insulation layer for one jacket (40g of insulation / m2). The innovation will be shown at the upcoming edition of OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen from June 17-20. Primaloft plans to make 90 percent of its insulation products with at least 50 percent recycled fiber by 2020.
