Kodiak Boots, a Canadian footwear brand founded in Ontario in 1910, announced that it is the first footwear company to use PrimaLoft P.U.R.E. insulation. PrimaLoft P.U.R.E., short for Produced Using Reduced Emissions, is an insulation made from 100 percent recycled PET plastic that reduces carbon emissions by at least 48 percent. Kodiak will incorporate PrimaLoft P.U.R.E. into four of its products for fall 2021. The partnership with PrimaLoft P.U.R.E. technology is part of a larger sustainability initiative by Kodiak called Built for What Matters. Kodiak has partnered with many of its suppliers to incorporate less harmful manufacturing practices and greener materials into its footwear, with the goal of reducing its overall impact. Kodiak is part of the workwear division of VF Corp.
