Schoeller Textil, with the Hohenstein Institute and other partners, is ready for a six-month space journey leaving the planet Earth on May 28 as part of the Spacetex research program. It will explore the interaction between the human body, clothing and climate in weightless conditions in order to optimize the development of astronauts' clothing for future expeditions such as the exploration of Mars, scheduled for 2030. The fibers and fabrics tested in space will also help develop functional garments that can be used in extreme conditions on Earth.
