Sympatex Technologies is introducing new outer and lining materials made of recycled PET bottles for a range of applications in sports, fashion and leisure. The recycled polyester outer material is certified according to the Global Recycle Standard and is 100 percent recyclable and free of PTFE and PFC, says the company. It can be combined with Sympatex' two-layer and three-layer laminates as well as its Windmaster membrane, which is also made with recycled polyester. The material base of the laminates is the New Life yarn made from recycled PET bottles by an Italian specialist, Sinterama. For the new linings, Sympatex has teamed up with Thermore to offer a waterproof cotton wool liner made of 100 percent recycled polyester.
