The International Federation of Sports Climbing (IFSC) has signed a deal with Japan's Synca Creation to televise its 2014 World Championship and World Cup series in Japan, giving more media exposure to a sports activity that is booming in the country. Synca says that the sport will grow exponentially in the coming years, thanks also to the successes of Japanese climbers. The deal coincided with a three victories won by Japanese athletes at the final event of the IFSC Lead World Cup series in Kranj. Earlier this year, the IFSC signed a four-year agreement with another agency, Broadreach, to assist it in centralizing and distributing its TV and new media rights outside of Europe.
