“This ain't no travel blog,” warns Columbia Sportswear while inviting world travelers, glacier climbers, cave explorers and anyone else around the world to apply for two new positions of “director of toughness” at the company. They will have to test gear “in the most unforgiving conditions” and be at the same time nature photographers and social media experts. The winners of the contest will get a compensation of $39,000 each and receive the benefits of a full-time Columbia employee for nine months. To qualify, the contenders will have to register on Instagram under @columbia1938 and be ready for interviews at locations that will be difficult to reach in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
