Unifi, a specialist in recycled and synthetic yarns, announced the winners of its Repreve Champions of Sustainability awards, which recognize brand, textile and retail partners that have demonstrated a commitment to using fiber made from recycled material in their products. In the fourth year of the award, a total of 93 companies were honored, more than ever before in the program’s history.
The award was presented to 38 brand and retail partners that have processed 10 million or more recycled plastic bottles and 55 textile partners that have processed 50 million or more recycled plastic bottles through the use of Repreve Performance fibers. In addition to the 98 bottle-based awards, Unifi also recognizes three winners in special categories: Repreve Newcomer, Repreve Partners in Innovation and Repreve Leading the Change. This year, the Newcomer Award goes to Odlo for its commitment to sustainability. Other winners from the outdoor industry were: Buff, Patagonia, Polartec, Quiksilver, The North Face, Volcom and VF Corp.
