Decathlon is further expanding its collaborations with grocery store chains across Europe as part of its plan to make its products available to shoppers in their everyday life. After partnering with Carrefour in Belgium earlier this year, the French sporting goods chain is now teaming up with Carrefour in Italy. Some of Decathlon’s products will be available for purchase at three Carrefour Express and four Carrefour Market stores in Milan. At these locations, Carrefour customers will find Decathlon products for fitness, hiking and running as well as sports nutrition products. The pilot phase of the Italian pilot project starts in July and is scheduled to run throughout the summer. A similar test was conducted in France in April, in partnership with the Franprix chain of supermarkets, as reported in SGI Europe on Apr. 18.
