Meindl, the German footwear manufacturer, has a new set-up for the distribution of its range in China. Kailas, one of the leading domestic outdoor brands in the country, will continue to take care of Meindl's technical hiking, trekking and mountaineering lines. Under the helm of Kailas, Meindl's functional gear is marketed by the same sales force as Vaude, which is also distributed by Kailas. This will not be changed but the company's very specific distribution pattern for its lifestyle footwear in China is changing. This line used to be handled by the Harson company, in charge of Keen as well. For the line of leisure-oriented shoes, Meindl has switched to Sego Sport, a major distributor and retailer of outdoor and sports brands in the north and especially the northeastern regions of China.
