Oberalp opened a new Mountain Shop on Dec. 4 in Cogne, in Italy’s Aosta Valley. The new shop follows the opening of two other Mountain Shops in Italy this year – one in Campo Tures in July and one in Bergamo in October. The store in Campo Turis was in fact the first one of the new retail concept developed by the Oberalp Group. In addition to the brands owned by Operalp – Salewa, Dynafit, Wild Country, Evolv, Pomoca and the new women’s label LaMunt – the new Mountain Shops offer third-party brands that reflect the respective local conditions.

The new franchise in Cogne has been opened in partnership with Le Paradis des Sports, owned by Massimo Borettaz. In the spirit of Oberalp’s new concept stores, the one in Cogne also offers a rental service of ski, mountaineering, cross-country and other mountain activity equipment. Cogne is located in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park and is a well-known destination for mountain enthusiasts. Cogne marks the seventh retail opening overall in 2020 for the Oberalp Group, after the two other Italian Mountain Shops of Campo Turis and Bergamo as well as two stores in Austria and two in Poland. The Oberalp Group opened two stores directly (Campo Tures and Graz) while the other five are franchises with local partners.
