Vertical Sports has taken on the distribution of Grivel in Spain, replacing Esportiva Aksa. The Spanish distributor will also start representing Silva. The decision to work with these brands of climbing equipment and head lamps are related to the termination of Vertical's long-standing distribution agreement with Petzl, which has set up its own subsidiary in the country. It is run by Lidia Cano, who took care of Petzl at Vertical for 18 years. The new Spanish subsidiary will also sell the dynamic ropes made by Edelrid for Petzl. Vertical already distributes other important outdoor brands in Spain such as Béal, Marmot, Ferrino, Eagle Creek, Primus, Mad Rock, Camelbak and Primus. As we have already reported, Béal has decided to work with Grivel following Petzl's decision to introduce dynamic ropes under its own brand name. Béal and Petzl had been sharing distributors in Spain and many other markets.
