Thaller & Sappel Mediaworks from Munich is publishing a new outdoor magazine for tablets. The magazine, launched on Sept. 15, is directed to alpine beginners and professionals. The first issue of Mountain4U, which can be downloaded via iTunes and Google-Play stores, includes information on companies, products, tests and videos and interactive tools. The monthly magazine is free of charge for its first two issues, afterwards it will be priced €3.59, with a 3 percent investment in environmental protection projects.

Aerial tram crash in Italy kills 14
A cabin on the Stresa-Mottarone aerial tramway, situated west of Lake Maggiore in Italy’s Piedmont region, crashed on May 23.
