Attendance was up again at this year's Outdoor Trade Show (OTS), held on July 9-11 in the British city of Manchester. According to the organizers, the show logged 990 unique visitors over its three days, for a year-on-year increase of four percent. Significantly, the number of retail buyers and owners went up by 27 percent to 387 as compared to a year ago. There were no consumers, but there were other trade visitors including manufacturers, distributors and representatives of the media. With the increase of 7.5 percent in 2018, the OTS has now seen the number of unique visitors rise by 12 percent in the two years since the move from Warwickshire to Manchester. The organizers believe, moreover, that there was significant repeat attendance, with people staying longer and coming on consecutive days. A total of 131 exhibitors participated in the show. The UK Outdoor Industry Awards expanded as well, with 120 products competing in 10 categories, all listed at theoia.co.uk/awards. Voting will open to the public early next year, both online and at next February's Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham.
