Columbia Sportswear, Kingcamp and Toread are among the outdoor companies that will be exhibiting their products at the first China Consumer Fishing Show, due to be held at the China World Trade Center in Beijing from Aug. 24-26. It is being organized by the same company that for 22 years has been putting together the successful trade-only China Fish show in Beijing each February. While China Fish attracted more than 500 firms at its last session at the New China International Exhibition Center, including 42 from abroad, the new consumer show will start off with only about 100 exhibitors. It hopes to attract at least 20,000 visitors – an apparently realistic goal in a country with between 60 million and 90 million anglers, many of whom live in urban areas.
