McTrek, the German outdoor retail chain, honored the so-called “Frankfurter GrünGürtel” circular hiking trail with its 2019 McTrek innovation award. The trail is 64.5 kilometers long, circling around the city of Frankfurt. The award ceremony was held on Sept. 9 during the TourNatur trade show in Düsseldorf. The award winner receives prize money of €2,000 as well as a media package worth €20,000. McTrek Outdoor Sports, part of the Yeah! group that was acquired at 95 percent by the Belgian-based AS Adventure Group in 2018, currently has 43 stores in Germany.
