Rolf Schmid, the chief executive of Mammut Sports Group, will be the keynote speaker at the Ispo Dinner during the next European Outdoor Forum, due to be held in Annecy, France, on Oct. 16 and 17. He follows Paul Petzl (Petzl) and Heiner Oberrauch (Salewa), who gave their speeches in the previous two years. The organizers' promise is that Schmid will give a speech that is set to reveal a very personal view on the evolution of the outdoor industry by the man who has been directing Mammut since 1996 – first as chief of the sporting goods unit of the former Arova-Mammut and since 2000 as chief executive of Mammut Sports Group. Schmid served as chairman of the European Outdoor Group between 2003 and 2011. The European Outdoor Forum has been held at Annecy annually for the past two years to bring together the top managers of the outdoor industry for networking and to discuss future perspectives for the business. While Ispo is sponsoring the first-day dinner, SGI Europe and a sister publication, The Outdoor Industry Compass, are sponsoring a lunch during the event.
