The organizers of the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market have started discussing the idea of an agreement with Snowsports Industries of America, which organizes the SIA snow show in Denver. The idea is that Outdoor Retailer would hold a softgoods-only show in Salt Lake City in November, starting in 2017, while the equipment segment of the two fairs would be held at a single event in Denver in January. The plan would address the wishes of makers of shoes and apparel, who require earlier ordering schedules. It would also relieve hotel congestion in Salt Lake City, but it would force retailers to visit two shows. The OR Winter Market is smaller than the Summer Market. Its latest edition, which was held earlier than usual, attracted 1,060 brands and about 22,000 attendees.
