UTMB International, the organizer of the famous Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, has signed a contract with a Chinese firm, Xingzhi Exploration Company, for the organization of the first UTMB race in another country. The new Chinese UTMB will be called Gaoligong By UTMB and will be held from March 9 to 11 next year in the Gaoligong mountains near Tengchong, in the southeastern Yunnan province. Registration should soon be open on its multi-lingual website for participation in three races of 55, 125 and 160 kilometers. A test run with 52 participants from 14 nations took place on Nov. 18 and 19.
