Indorama Ventures, the global chemical producer based in Bangkok, will be investing $1.5 billion in recycling. The company's main activity is the production of PET resin, used as raw material to make items such as plastic bottles, tires, fibers and filaments. As reported by just-style, the company is planning to spend $1 billion by 2023, and a further $0.5 billion by 2025 on greenfield and brownfield sites and acquisitions in recycling capacity in different countries. Details on which countries the investment will involve are not yet available. Indorama has most recently acquired Sinterama, a maker of high-performance polyester yarns that are used in the apparel sector with production sites in Italy, Bulgaria, China and Brazil, headquartered in Sandigliano, Italy.
