NSF Sustainability, a division of NSF International, has certified the first manufacturers to the Global Traceable Down Standard (Global TDS). The certification has been achieved by South Korea's Youngone Corporation, Taiwan's Quang Viet Enterprise, and China's Shen Gang Tungsang. All three of these manufacturers are suppliers to the down outdoor apparel and sporting goods markets. The Global TDS certifies that the down comes from farms that practice the highest levels of animal welfare, and that the down is fully traceable throughout its supply chain. The Global TDS standard was launched by NSF in March after 18 months of development.
