Smartwool, a division of VF Outdoor, has pledged to support Protect Our Winters (POW) Canada, a community of professional athletes and industry brands teaming up to address climate change issues across the outdoor community. The financial support from the brand is to help raise awareness of climate change as well as fund Hot Planet Cool Athletes, a youth education program which focuses on the athlete's personal experiences in the outdoors. Hot Planet Cool Athletes is a 45-minute multimedia in-school assembly that uses professional athletes to engage and inspire the students. It is available for free to any school that is interested in educating teens about climate change.
