The Swedish outdoor and lifestyle brand Didriksons has completely eliminated the use of fluorocarbons in all its products for its spring 2015 collection. According to an article published in Sportfack, Didriksons has been phasing out fluorocarbon base treatments for water repellency for years, and has now found a material that works equally well for their needs. The new impregnation is a perfluorinated substance. However, over time, the impregnation must be activated or garments must be re-impregnated.
