United By Blue has raised a Series A financing round, led by Emil Capital Partners with participation from CircleUp, Golda Darty, Connected VC, and Patient Capital Collaborative, among others. United By Blue, based in Philadelphia, is known for its outdoor sustainable products that support ocean and waterway conservation. For every product sold, the company pledges to remove one pound of trash from oceans and waterways through company organized and hosted cleanups. In addition to its conservation work, the company adopts innovative eco-friendly practices such as utilizing American bison fiber in products including socks and outerwear. The company has recently introduced a sustainable down alternative called B100, a bison fiber insulation exclusively used in all its outerwear. The company said that it plans to use the new round of funding to support ongoing innovation within its sustainable supply chain and new product development, as well as to enhance its focus on both digital and wholesale distribution across North America and Europe. United By Blue is currently encouraging consumers to participate in Blue Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, and to spend an hour of their time outside picking up trash and join the Bluemovement community.
