Vaude has won the the GreenTec Award 2016 in the category “Green Office by Kyocera” with a concept entitled “Working in Harmony with Nature.” The GreenTec Environmental Award, which was established in 2008, is bestowed once a year in several categories. In the “Green Office” category, organizations are rewarded for innovative and effective approaches to improving their environmental footprint. The final selection is made by a jury of experts consisting of 70 representatives from business, associations, academia and the media. Vaude was presented with the award at a gala in Munich's ICM on May 29, in front of more than 1,000 invited guests and around 100 media representatives. The company received a financial award of €25,000 euro for the sustainable remodeling of its headquarters in Tettnang, Germany, which was completed last year. In order to create an innovative and healthy workspace for its 500 employees, Vaude sustainably remodeled its entire corporate building in Tettnang. The remodeling and construction cost around €7 million and introduced an additional 3,000 square meters of office space. The facility is filled with examples of environmental awareness, such as ecological building materials, an energy-efficient building structure, as well as carpets made from recycled fishing nets.
