Bergzeit, the German-based outdoor retailer that became a member of the buying group Sport 2000 in October last year, launched a new marketing campaign on March 8, International Women’s Day. The so-called mountain heroine campaign with the slogan “You are a mountain heroine. Always.” was launched for the disciplines of indoor climbing, trail running, hiking, and alpine touring. Employees of Bergzeit and brand ambassadors are the faces of the new campaign. With the new campaign, Bergzeit wants to respond to the increasing demand for equipment that is specially designed for women and to provide for exchange between female experts, product consultants and outdoor athletes. Bergzeit offers several special products online as well as courses, events and other activities in its customer experience portfolio.

Established in 2012, Bergzeit has grown to become one of the most important outdoor retailers in Germany. A subsidiary of the sports group Georg and Jakob Oberrauch, which also owns the Sportler chain in Italy, Bergzeit increased its turnover to €65 million in 2018. Industry watchers expect this to increase by a further €10 million once the 2019 figures are revealed.
