Nilit, an Israel-based nylon 6.6 manufacturer, has introduced Sensil BioCare, a new fiber that is described as breaking down faster than conventional nylon. This could help reduce the persistence of textile waste in seawater and landfills when the garment reaches the end of its life. In addition, the technology will not wash out or interfere with dyes, performance additives or finishes, Nilit says, allowing for long-lasting but also soft fabrics.
