A program called Goggles for Docs has been quickly instituted in the U.S. to provide ski goggles to healthcare workers who would otherwise lack eye protection while treating patients infected with Covid-19. The program relies entirely on volunteers and donations. Instructions for logistics, with hospitals broken down by state (16 so far), are online at www.gogglesfordocs.com. Smith, the American brand, is contributing new and used goggles and promoting the program as well. It will be hosting the Après Ski Music Series, live-streaming performances – by Stephen Kellogg, the Pete Kilpatrick Band and others – and inviting listeners to donate goggles or cash for the purchase of PPE. Fischer Skis US, the American distributor of Uvex goggles and helmets, is donating 1,000 pairs of goggles.
