The ski resorts in the Alps have recorded a large increase in ski touring enthusiasts who have been skiing on slopes for years. For this winter season, experts are expecting further growth because of possible restrictions in winter sports due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ski touring specialist Dynafit, a brand of the South Tyrolean Oberalp Group, already pioneered concepts for the safe coexistence of ski touring and alpine skiing in 2017.

In addition to six ski touring parks in Germany and Austria, Dynafit is now opening more than 20 test centers in ski resorts where ski touring is possible, in order to make it easier for ski touring enthusiasts to get started with test equipment. In regions that appeal to this relatively new target group, ski tourers are offered safe and environmentally friendly ascent routes. The concept includes one or more marked routes, a test center run by local Dynafit retailers, ski touring evenings (if restrictions allow) and other services for both experienced ski mountaineers and newcomers. The ski touring parks are located in St. Johann in Tyrol, Saalfelden, Pitztal Glacier, Puchberg am Schneeberg, Zahmer Kaiser (all in Austria) and on the Jenner in Berchtesgaden (Germany).
