The Dutch Pon Bike Group (PGB, with brands Cervélo, Focus, Gazelle, Juliana, Kalkhoff, Santa Cruz, Union and others) has been distributing the traditional British bicycle brand Raleigh as a licensed brand in the German-speaking markets since 2005. As the license agreement with Accell Group expires at the end of September 2023, the two Dutch premium bicycle groups have now agreed in negotiations to transfer the distribution of Raleigh in these markets to the Accell Group. According to PBG’s German subsidiary Derby Cycle (renamed Kalkhoff in May 2021 and overlooking Raleigh’s distribution in the German-speaking market), they have “carefully reviewed all options and have been able to transfer part of the [Raleigh] team to suitable and open positions within the wider Kalkhoff organization.” Employees who cannot be transferred internally are to receive double severance pay, according to the currently active social plan. “Plus extended transition time to find a new employer and additional career counseling guiding them from work-to-work. Our commitment is to handle this process in a respectable and responsible manner,” the company said.
