Arc'teryx will replicate its annual Bird's Nest project at the Globetrotter mega-store in Cologne this weekend. Industry officials and consumers are being encouraged to put together wa terproof capes for the homeless in the area, using remnants of Gore-Tex fabrics and other products from the Canadian factory in Vancouver. W. L. Gore employees are expected to participate in the event. Arc'teryx carries out a similar project in its hometown every year, making weatherproof ponchos for the homeless from production leftovers, and gave away more than 600 of them last time. The Globetrotter store is also calling on local consumers to give back used sleeping bags that can be used by homeless people in the Cologne area.
