Messe Friedrichshafen reported on a successful 14th edition of the Asia Outdoor trade show in Nanjing, China, on June 27-30. Spread over indoor and outdoor spaces totaling 48,000 square meters, some 312 brands presented their products and services to about 16,700 visitors from China itself, Turkey, Ukraine, Korea, Hong Kong and elsewhere. There were sales meetings, product presentations, matchmaking and networking events, lectures on markets and marketing, a ceremony for industry awards, a conference on sports tourism and an exhibition called “Functional Textiles Supply Chain Integration Activities.” This year's show also featured the premier of a “consumer-focused” Carnival, with interactive modules, film screenings, party zones, product-testing areas and presentations by major brands – the objective being to combine B2B with B2C. Especially large crowds are said to have gathered around the stands of new companies and start-ups during the show's first two days. Next year's Asia Outdoor show is scheduled for July 18-20.
