Messe München has publicly announced its plans to start a summer trade show in China in 2015, in response to demands by participants from the sporting goods industry in its ten-year-old Ispo Beijing show and in last June's Ispo Academy in Shanghai, where almost 250 industry representatives were on hand to discuss the future of the market in China. The new show would cover the segments of action sports, outdoor, sport style, water sports and sports performance (running, trail running, perhaps fitness, etc.). Some of these sports are growing rapidly in China. Messe München points also to the development of multi-sport retailing in the country. The precise dates and the venue of the new trade show have not yet been decided. Messe München will conduct detailed surveys at its upcoming trade events for the sports industry to collect feedback for the planned new summer project. It will be interesting to see the reaction from the organizers of the Asia Outdoor fair in Nanjing, which is connected with the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen.
