More than 250 delegates are attending the European Outdoor Summit in Barcelona in the next two days. The participants have already received their agenda and a list of the delegates to the annual convention. To help networking with one another, they will be able to use a new app that is compatible with iOS and Android platforms. The high-tech solution is supplied in partnership with Myagi, the online learning network for retail sales associates. The central theme for this year's Summit is “An Industry in Evolution - A Common Sense Check on Future Reality.” The list of speakers includes Jens Nymand Christensen, deputy director general for education and culture at the European Commission; Rick Ridgeway, vice president of public engagement at Patagonia; Frederic Hufkens, chairman and chief executive of the A.S. Adventure Group; Arne Arens, European general manager of The North Face; and Andrew Denton, chief executive of the Outdoor Industries Association of the U.K. Gore-Tex, Ispo and Black Yak are acting as main sponsors. The OutDoor fair, Camelbak, Ternua, Thule, Vibram, YKK and a local public authority will be the support sponsors. It will be interesting to find out where the EOS will be held next year. We are betting that it's going to be either in France or in Italy.
