The restructuring of Vaude’s marketing department in 2019 has created three new management positions aimed at driving digitization and internationalization, according to a statement released by the German outdoor brand earlier this month. The new structure creates a 50 percent quota of women in management positions in marketing, exceeding the company-wide quota of 43 percent.

Led by Sonja Rupp, five employees will be responsible for the brand’s digital appearance and services. At first, the focus will be on omnichannel and marketing automation. Matthias Unflat will lead a new team comprising the Social Media, press and public relations departments. As the new head of the sponsoring and events team, Tina Jauch will be responsible for all events, including trade shows, PoS, and sponsoring. Vaude‘s management has thus grown from one woman and two men – managing director Antje von Dewitz and the department heads Manfred Meindl and Ralf Geiger – to three women and three men.

The restructuring also included the expansion of services for employees such as flexible working hours, home office arrangements, sports activities during lunch break, an organic cafeteria and training courses on self-esteem and communication.
