From the proceeds of a public special sale of returned and sample goods earlier this months, the German multisport retailer Bergzeit has donated €5,000 to the non-profit organization Bergwaldprojekt e.V., a German organization for the protection, preservation and care of the forest, especially the mountain forest and cultural landscapes, and the Munich-based inclusive climbing club Ich will da rauf (”I want to get up there”). During the three-day sale, reclaimed products were available at greatly reduced prices. With the special sale, Bergzeit made concessions to favor the further use of products. To avoid unnecessary garbage, the retailer opposes the widespread practice of destroying unsaleable goods.
