Meanwhile, EOCA has announced the environmental projects that were chosen through a public vote via the internet in cooperation with various consumer magazines across Europe, such as TGO, Alpin, Lift, Bike and Trekking, Wider, and National Geographic. The winning projects, which will enjoy funding from EOCA this year, are the Hnuti Duha project for the Conservation of Large Carnivores in the West Carpathians (proposed by Rock Point) and Surfers Against Sewage project, a coastal protection initiative that was nominated by SmartWool Europe. A third winner of the public vote is the John Muir Trust supporting the Steall Gorge Restoration project, which was nominated by Patagonia Europe. Another vote is reserved for the formal members of EOCA (of which this publication is one) and will be finalized this week.
