Patagonia has announced a partnership with an organization called Nature Conservancy and the Argentinian federation of ranchers, named Ovis XXI. The outdoor brand has agreed to buy wool from farmers in Argentina for use in its range of functional underwear. The sheep graze on some 1.6 million square kilometers, about the triple of the size of the California, where the grass land is seriously endangered due to excessive grazing by cattle. With the support of Patagonia, Nature Conservancy will help the ranchers with scientific advice and know-how to avoid ways of grazing that are harmful to nature in Southern Latin America.
