Sympatex planning to launch a new thermal molding technology that is supposed to improve the fit of its recyclable, polyester-based waterproof/breathable membrane to the inner shape of the foot, without seams or creases. Called Utmospheric, it will be unveiled at Lineapelle, the international leather show in Milan, on Sept. 25-27. According to the German company, which recently came under the control of Otto, the new technology can be easily integrated into existing shoe manufacturing processes, offering major benefits for the manufacturer and improving comfort for the wearer. The new system should go into full production by the end of 2019 at the latest.
