Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR), located in Jackson, Wyoming, is the fourth search and rescue organization to be operational in the U.S. with the RECCO SAR helicopter detector. The detector will be used to search for missing people in the outdoors year-round, the non-profit organization said. The ski patrols of the Jackson Hole and Snow King mountain resorts have been equipped with hand-held RECCO detectors for avalanche rescue and missing person searches for some time, but this is the first time the helicopter detection system will be used in the area. Currently, there are 19 RECCO SAR helicopter detectors operationally globally, with six in North America and 13 units deployed across Europe.
